Cougar was purchased from Malcolm Mitchell (originally from Muloorina Station now at Angaston in SA) and has proven to be more than just a quiet riding horse. A young horse that turned from ugly duckling into a swan and has taken owner Amanda Young from beginner to experienced rider in a short period of time. He has proven to be a beautiful show horse with all the flair that a great competition horse has, precocious at times but has a huge personality that you cannot help but like and he is willing to please, as long as you feed him carrots!

He is the winner of multiple supreme and champion titles for Australian Stock Horse at Branch and State level as well as wins and placings at Royal Show level. Cougar has also won many high point awards, including the Rannock Overall ASHS SA Central Branch highpoint trophy and High Point Gelding among others. Cougar has regularly competed successfully in ASH show events as well as campdrafting.
